Xunantunich Mayan Ruins sits at the top of a mountain which is accessible by crossing the Mopan River on a hand cranked ferry. A paved road leads to the top where you will find a small museum, a gift shop and of course Xunantunich and it’s Courtyard. You will explore all the structures and also climb “El Castillo”, the main structure of the site, from where you can get a panoramic view of the entire region including the bordering town of Melchor, Guatemala.
After the Mayan ruins we head back on Western Highway to the Jaguar Paw Reserve where you can enjoy a complimentary lunch or a buffet lunch at the on-site restaurant. Glide down the stream within Belize most amazing cave system which runs under the Maya Mountains. Explore impressive stalagmites and stalactites, encounter remains of Mayan artifacts and pottery, crawl steep and narrow pathways and explore hidden chambers.
Right after the cave tubing you are taken to the Zip Line course, where you put on your gear and begin a slightly exhausting trek uphill to the beginning of the course. There are always two guides per group for any questions or assistance needed. Zip Lining at canopy level, hundreds of feet above the ground, is truly an adrenaline rush.
